Readme for version 1.1.2.146 of 5.2 Workload Partitions for AIX 7

If you have a WPAR created from an earlier version of AIX 5.2 Workload Partitions for AIX 7, and wish to update it to version 1.1.2.146, the following describes the update that must be applied.

Prerequisites

This PTF requires a minimum of version 1.1.1.0 of vwpar.52 previously installed in the WPAR.

Installation Information

This update is to be applied in an AIX 5.2 WPAR. Download the supplied U867648.bff file and copy it into the WPAR to be updated. The installp command can be used to apply the update. For example the following installp command executed in the directory where U867648.bff is located would apply the update. If desired the -c option can be included to commit the update.

installp -agXY -d. vwpar.52

These updates are intended to be applied in an existing 5.2 WPAR. There are corresponding install images (vwpar.images.52) at version 1.1.2.146 that should be installed in any LPAR in which new 5.2 WPARs are to be created.
