The information in this Readme contains the fix list and other package information about the Hardware Management Console.

Terminology

x86 - This term is used to reference the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen) on which Virtual HMC can be installed. Note: HMC V11 release for x86 is not supported on bare metal (7042 hardware appliances).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions).  Note: HMC V11 release for ppc64le is not supported on 7063-CR1 hardware appliance.

PTF MF71738 HMC V11 R1 M1110.2 – for vHMC for x86_64 hypervisors  (5765-HMU)

This package represents an interim fix for HMC V11 R1 M1110 for vHMC on x86_64 hypervisors. You can also reference this package by APAR MB04503 and PTF MF71738. This PTF can be installed on HMC V11 R1 M1110.

NOTE: This PTF supersedes MF71732.

PTF MF71739 HMC V11 R1 M1110.2 – for 7063-CR2 Hardware or vHMC for PowerVM (5765-HMD)

This package represents an interim fix for HMC V11 R1 M1110 on 7063-CR2 machine type or vHMC for PowerVM. You can also reference this package by APAR MB04504 and PTF MF71739. This PTF can be installed on HMC V11 R1 M1110.

NOTE: This PTF supersedes MF71733.

  • Fixed an issue where saving new settings on the HMC settings GUI page causes network bond interfaces to be deleted.
  • Extended the amount of time the Test Call Home function will wait for the ticket to be received before returning the following failure sequence even though the ticket was successfully created and returned
    Symptoms included:
    • REST0370 Creating test problem
    • REST0371 Test problem created:xxx
    • REST0372 Submitting problem for callhome
    • REST0374 Test failed
    • REST0358 No PMH is received, please check console log for more details.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented an HMC user with a custom resource role from being able to launch the Create partition or Create VIOS task on the GUI for a Power11 system.
  • Fixed an issue that prevents a user from collecting the HMC diagnostics file (pedbg) when selecting a system and then Service > Create serviceable event.
  • Changed the time zone used on the Power mode GUI page when setting a schedule for power mode changes for a managed system to match the HMC time zone.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the speed 1000Mbps Full Duplex to be missing from the list of Media speeds on the HMC management > Network settings > Edit LAN adapter page.  If the media speed for the LAN adapter was already set to 1000Mbps Full Duplex, previously it was incorrectly shown as 1000Mbps Half Duplex on that page.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the hscpe user from collecting the HMC diagnostics file (pedbg) when creating a serviceable event via the HMC GUI.
  • Fixed an issue that causes the PCM dashboard to show no data when the HMC timezone is set to "GMT+<x>" or "GMT-<x>".

  • Addressed CWE-532: Insertion of Sensitive Information into Log File
